I began my art career in ceramics, my final pieces hand-built, burnished pots pit fired on a beach in Northern California. In Connecticut I had to change my art and found that collage fit my aesthetic sense and my skills. No necessity to draw well, but an opportunity to use my sense of color and shape. I have such fun in my studio playing with torn painted papers, bark from trees, fabric, string, dryer cloths, and twigs. I get my inspiration from the woods that surround my house and studio and from walking with my dog Zoe in the forest. It is there I pick up bark and twigs, listen to birds and imagine new pieces of art. Finally, as I am also a book binder, I have decided to combine the two techniques into one piece which I title Book Art.
